The Offroad Shootout, hosted by Rainman’s Hobbies in Bakersfield, CA and presented by the Jimmy Babcock Racing League, welcomes racers back with a weekend long event.

Ryan Maifield’s Race Report

Made the trip to Rain-Mans Hobby and Raceway in Bakersfield, California for the Summer Off-Road Shootout. This event was put on by Jimmy Babcock and the Hot Rod Hobbies and JBRL crew and as a team, we had an absolute blast and I look forward to returning.

After 3 rounds of qualifying I was able to take the TQ in 2wd and 4wd modified which was not easy against some very quick drivers. We were able to get together as a team and feed off each other’s successful setups and as a group have a solid performance in qualifying from Team Yokomo and our JConcepts drivers running so well.

The main events went well, some great races with Broc Champlin, Ryan Cavalieri and Ron DevolI. I was able to get the lead, run solid laps and with the JConcepts traction, I completed the victories in two straight main events and was able to sit out A3 and watch some racing. Of course, Thanks to Joe Pillars and the Yokomo team on all the help and support throughout the weekend and to JConcepts, HobbyWing, and ProTek on having everything I needed to perform at a top level.
