Over the weekend Ryan Lutz traveled down to Adrenaline RC Raceway in Winchester, VA to compete in the USRC Race. MotorWeek TV came to film an episode for their upcoming fall season on PBS as well. Hardison and Lutz would go to head to head in the 1:8 E-buggy and Nitro Buggy classes. The race consisted of 3 qualifiers and the main event. Hardison took Qual 1 & 2 and the overall TQ for Ebuggy. In Nitro Buggy Lutz took all three qualifiers. Hardison went on to go pole to pole in the E-buggy A Main, grabbing the win!

The cameras were rolling and the Engine’s were warming for the Nitro Buggy Main Event. It was time to give MotorWeek TV the show they’d been looking for. “Down and Quiet” and the tone rang, they were off. Hardison and Lutz were neck and neck for the first part of the main. Hardison putting in the work, came up on Lutz and was able to get a lap up on him. In that moment, a strange noise came out of Hardison’s engine. Concerned, he quickly pulled his car into pit lane to have his team assess the situation. The pipe had came off the engine, putting him out of the race. Lutz continued to lap the field until about the 27 minute mark when his car broke coming down the 5 pack. The marshall quickly picked up his car and ran it down towards pit lane. Spectators, in the midst of the craziness, grabbed Schaeffer’s attention (Lutz’s pit guy) to help sort out the problem. Lutz rushed down the drivers stand to check on his car. They both ran the car into the pit building where Lutz was set up. In the meantime, Javon Mallory was catching up to the lap where Lutz left off. (Lutz had 5 laps on the field before he broke out). In no time, Lutz and Schaeffer fixed the car, ran it back out to the track, and Lutz was back on the drivers stand with one lap left between him and Mallory (who was in 2nd place). Lutz finished out the last 2 minutes of the race and grabbing the Win for the weekend!
