National Hobby Month! Show your Local Shop some Love!

Share Your RC Passion at A Local Hobby Shop

Make a Visit to Your Local Traxxas Dealer, and Bring a Friend to Share the Fun!

January is officially National Hobby Month. If you’re not already outside kicking up some massive snow roosts, take a moment to think about what got you started in the hobby. Many of you probably first learned about RC though friends or family. In the spirit of National Hobby Month, take this opportunity to share your love of the hobby and introduce someone you know to the joy of wrenching and racing. Invite them along the next time you head out to your local hobby shop and share what makes our hobby special.

It Started at a Hobby Shop
Many of you can probably trace your love of hobbies back to one particular store from your childhood. Maybe it was a model rocket or train display in a mall window that caught your eye, or maybe you saw your first T-Maxx in a hobby shop down on Main Street. Hobby stores have always played a huge role in the RC hobby, and continue to do so even in the age of digital commerce.

Hobby shops are there to provide service after the sale. If you are introducing someone new to the RC hobby, they will likely have questions. Your local hobby shop is there to provide helpful advice and answers. Accessorizing and customizing your RC car or truck is one of the best aspects of the hobby. Not only does your local shop have the parts, but they have years of experience to advise you what will work best for your vehicle.

Take it to the Track
If you’ve never been racing, you’re definitely missing out! One of the best ways to learn about the hobby is engaging with other people who share your passion. Not only are most RC tracks affiliated with a local hobby shop, but they also serve as a rallying point for other enthusiasts. Half the fun of tricking out your ride is showing it off to the competition. Whether you’re carpet racing your MERV or clipping the apex with your 4-Tec Mustang drift car, the local track is a great way for you and your buddies to enjoy the hobby.

Technology may change, but the foundation remains the same: the RC hobby is about friends, family, and fun! We encourage you to get out and enjoy the hobby with the friends you know and the new ones you’ll make along the way. Introduce someone new to the hobby and experience the same initial thrill you had all over again. January may be National Hobby Month, but the RC hobby is a lifelong adventure that never gets old.
